Abstract
This paperwork describes some characteristics of the identity of teachers of middle education in the process through which they acquire their condition of teachers, the reconstruction of the professional trajectories of four teachers was made through biographical data. The central features considered were the existence of a personal nucleus involved in the conformation of the professional, the temporal and relational process of conformation of the identity, the unique characteristics of their identity: knowledge of a discipline, capacity to transmit it, commitment with the tasks, the knowledge and the people, and the demands towards themselves and others.
