F., México (Received: July 27, 2009; accepted for publishing: August 24, 2009)     Abstract The article gives an overview of the main arguments and characteristics attributed to the Competency-based Approach in education, so as to analyze the various definitions available and some of the proposals on the subject of teaching skills.
